Ajour

That one is going to be complicated. The theme chosen this month, by Gine (http://djinnsetjeans-images.blogspot.com/) is… Well, I’m not sure how to even translate it in English. In French, it’s “Ajour”, which can be an embroidery term for openwork, or in architecture for a small opening or slit that lets in the light.

Le thème du mois va être chaud à réaliser. Choisi par Gine (http://djinnsetjeans-images.blogspot.com/), c’est… Ajour. Un terme utilisé en broderie et en architecture.

I’m not particularly into embroidery myself. Which leaves us with architecture… And even then, I got nothing. And while I kept digging, I ended up turning to Mother Nature. 4 years ago, in Vietnam, we were in the Ninh Bình province, and went on small boats for a ride on the Ngô Đồng river, through Tam Cốc, a series of limestone karst caves. I remembered the darkness engulfing us for a time, and a small opening in the rock bringing in the light, showing us the way.

Je suis pas trop fan de broderie, perso. Ce qui nous laisse l’architecture… Et même comme ça, je sèche. Et pendant que je continuais de me creuser les méninges, j’ai fini par me tourner vers Mère Nature. Il y a 4 ans, au Vietnam, pendant notre passage dans la province de Ninh Bình, nous avons fait une petite balade en barque sur la rivière Ngô Đồng, à travers Tam Cốc, une série de grottes karstiques. Je me suis souvenu des ténèbres nous entourant un instant, et de la petite percée dans la roche laissant passer la lumière, nous montrant le chemin.

I don’t have anything better for this theme…
