Weekly photo challenge: Horizon

Rare thing, I had actually taken a fitting picture this week for the Weekly Photo Challenge. The theme was Horizon. And on that same week-end, I went to Moravia for the first time, and visited a small city called Mikulov. There, around the end of the afternoon, I was at the top of the Svatý Kopeček, overlooking the city while the sun was slowly setting and the golden hour was starting. The perfect spot for a “Horizon” shot, which also conveniently doubled for a couple other photo projects, actually… (click on the picture to go see a bigger version on flickr).

Chose rare, j’avais en fait pris une photo qui collait au thème pour le défi photo de la semaine.Le thème était Horizon. Et le week-end dernier, je suis allé en Moravie pour la première fois, et ai visité une petite ville du nom de Mikulov. Là, vers la fin de l’après-midi, j’étais au sommet de la Svatý Kopeček, surplombant la ville pendant que le soleil entamait sa descente et que l’heure dorée débutait. L’endroit rêvé pour un cliché de l’Horizon, et qui a en même temps servi à quelques autres projets photo, en fait… (cliquez sur l’image pour aller la voir en grand sur flickr).

There’s something about watching couples that I like. It’s not exactly voyeurisme, and I don’t really like to take their faces in pictures. It’s more about the gestures, a hand here, or there, a head here, or there… If you look at couples in the street, they all have their own rather unique patterns. So many different representations of the same feeling. Some are going over the top with PDAs, some are very discreet. But they all love each other. For this picture, I felt that I was at the right place, at the right time…

Il y a quelque chose que j’aime en regardant les couples. C’est pas vraiment du voyeurisme, et je n’aime pas trop prendre les visages en photo. C’est plus à propos des gestes, une main par-ci, ou par-là, une tête posée ici, ou là… Si vous observez les couples dans la rue, ils ont tous leur propres gestes assez uniques. Tellement de manières différentes de symboliser un même sentiment. Y’en a qui s’exhibent fièrement, d’autre qui sont super discrets. Mais ils s’aiment tous. Pour cette photo, je me suis senti au bon endroit, au bon moment…
